Read An Ebook Week

by gloria on March 4, 2012

March 4-10 is Read An Ebook Week. Join the fun and read one this week. Some libraries are now offering Ebooks to lenders so you can get them free. I am happy that all my books are also in Ebook form and you don’t have to pay for shipping when you choose one.

Grownup Love: Getting It and Keeping It, is now found at Kindle as are Five Simple Steps to Emotional Healing and EFT for Procrastination. I hope that Born to Spend and Desserts Is Stressed Spelled Backwards will soon follow. Barnes and Noble, Sony and Kobo Vox also carry Ebooks.

I am thrilled to be part of this reading revolution and look forward to creating more books in the future.

Praise for Grownup Love Ebook

by gloria on February 21, 2012

Dr.Steve Manire,DC,CEPH from Little Rock Arkansas sent me this glowing review of Grownup Love:Getting It and Keeping It. I am thrilled that he is sharing my work with others.

It has been said that it is never too late to have a happy childhood. Now, Gloria Arenson shows us that it is never too late to find Grown Up Love and Keep It! Her latest book, Grown Up Love: Getting It and Keeping It, “takes you on a journey of self-exploration and self-transformation.” While most of us have sought to transform others in our relationships, she artfully clarifies that we can only transform ourselves.

Perhaps most importantly, she gives us tools to facilitate our transformation: EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and PEP (the Phoenix Effect Process). Both of these tools can allow one to rapidly and effectively clear the internal programs/beliefs/traumas/etc, that trap us in old repeating patterns of ineffectiveness that keep us from having “grown up” love.

She speaks as a professional – she is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with over 30 years
experience – and as one who has made the journey of transformation and has valuable experience to
draw from. She is also well versed in EFT/energy psychology, and is a former president of The
Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology. Yet, her book will benefit therapists and
laypersons, alike.

The book’s chapters address various aspects of love and relationships: How we learned about love
(from family, society, movies, etc.); The ways we’ve taken this learning into our relationships (often with disastrous results); Preparing oneself for better relationships (we can learn to make better choices); Dealing with emotional problems in ourselves and others; and, even getting free of harmful relationships.

Especially appreciated are the questions posed in numerous chapters. As an experienced therapist, she doesn’t give answers, but asks questions that guide us to find our own answers, and she is good at asking the right questions. Then, at the end of most chapters she gives a “Take Action” list of statements through which one may explore their own chapter-related issues with EFT and/or PEP.

My energy psychology study group and I really liked the notion of using these tools to “explore” our inner issues – seems less threatening, a more peaceful approach. It is vital to the process to take appropriate action to clear the internal blocks that we find. Only then may external actions be effectively considered and taken.

As a chiropractor for 30 years and an EFT/EP practitioner since 2004, I can vouch for two things:
1) EFT is a highly effective tool for the transformational process, and 2) as Gloria states, some people (clients, friends, relatives) may be “green fruit,” i.e., not ripe/ready for change, and one must take that into account and accept it…and live grown up love, anyway!

Gloria Arenson has written a short, very beneficial book for anyone living in relationship with anyone else and desiring to be more effective (i.e., happy!) in their relationships. My only criticism about the book is, since I use a yellow highlighter to mark significant passages when I read, she could have saved me time and ink by simply printing her book on yellow paper!
